Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the US English edition of gis-style.com. Updated October 20, 2026. Contact us about privacy at gelf.de.reus@gis-style.com.
Information used to deliver pages
When you request a page, the hosting infrastructure receives your IP address, requested URL, request time and technical browser or connection details. Hosting and infrastructure providers process these details to deliver content, diagnose errors and protect the service. Access and error logs depend on the server configuration. Records are retained for as long as needed for those purposes, investigating security incidents or meeting applicable legal obligations; this static website code does not set server log retention.
Language selection
The neutral homepage uses https://ipwho.is/?fields=success,country_code to request a country code when no manual language choice has been saved. The external IPWHOIS service receives your IP address and the request data needed to respond. This website uses only a success flag and country code for the current visit: DE, AT, CH and LI lead to German, while other countries, errors and a five-second timeout lead to English. Direct English and German links do not automatically redirect.
Choosing DE or EN stores gis-language in your browser until you clear this website’s browser data. This first-party preference is not sent to us and bypasses the country lookup at the neutral homepage. IPWHOIS has its own privacy information, including its processing and retention practices.
Cookies and browser storage
The English edition does not set advertising or analytics cookies, load tracking pixels, or display a consent panel. It uses the language preference described above. If you previously visited the German edition, a first-party gis-consent choice may remain in the browser for up to 180 days; the English edition does not read or use that choice. You can clear stored website data through your browser controls. Blocking storage does not prevent reading articles.
Article searches and page numbers are reflected in the URL and browser history so that refresh, Back and Forward work. Search runs in your browser against the category’s articles; it is not submitted to a separate search service. URLs can be included in normal server requests and logs when opened or refreshed, so do not enter sensitive personal information.
Email and service providers
Email links open your email application and do not send a message automatically. If you contact us, we use your sender address, message and any details you include to respond and handle necessary follow-up. Email delivery providers process the data needed to deliver those messages. We retain correspondence for the enquiry and necessary follow-up, and longer only for applicable recordkeeping requirements or legal claims. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
Hosting, email and the country-lookup service may process data in countries other than where you live. The site does not promise a particular country of storage. You may ask us about the processing relevant to your enquiry using the email address above.
Your choices and external websites
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and this version has no analytics, user accounts, order forms or active affiliate tracking. Images, fonts and stylesheets are served locally. External references and any retailer websites have their own data practices once you visit them.
You can ask for access, correction or deletion of information you have provided, subject to applicable rights and lawful retention requirements. Privacy rights can vary with your location and the laws that apply; contact us to make a request. We may need proportionate information to verify the request. Any material change to tracking or other processing will be reflected in this policy and any privacy controls required for that use.
